As part of Greenwich Council's "Data and
Integration Project" TCS Computer Services
was tasked with creating several seamless interfaces
between the Council's numerous Departmental
front and back-office software applications.
Two of these applications were Consona's
OneServe CRM
platform (formerly Onyx) and the
Local Government Association supplied LLPG (Local Land and
Property Gazetteer), a subset of data from
the national dataset known as the NLPG.
The LLPG contains
all local residents' and business's
addresses and is required to become the
central master database for all Departments
in Greenwich Council.
TCS undertook the required CRM-LLPG
BizTalk development, which went “Live” in
May 2009, when over 30,000 addresses were
updated in CRM.
Now TCS is responsible
for all the BizTalk CRM-LLPG interface
support and is involved in the on-going
development of further interfaces between
other departments.

Today, TCS secured the sale of iCube.NET to
the world's largest international beef
processing company, JBS Packerland, USA.
iCube.NET was chosen for its ability to work with data from
SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services and present the sales information to their financial controllers in a browser-based format.
JBS, having recently migrated from an Oracle environment to SQL Server, had difficultly in presenting the vast amount of sales information
using Microsoft's Excel 2007. Garth Schneider,
Integration Architect for JBS, said that “Excel just couldn’t cope with the amount of data
in the warehouse” and was surprised to have run
into "out of memory" issues with Microsoft's
latest "data analysis" tool.
He subsequently searched for a different solution, but despite trying alternatives such as iQub
which could not cope with the volume of data
either, still had no success.
After downloading and installing iCube.NET, Garth found that he could easily connect to the Sales OLAP Cube and publish custom reports to their users.

a trial version, please refer to the

Today TCS gained the Microsoft ISV/Software Solutions Competency for their
VeriTest certified product, iCube.NET. This comes after TCS gained
another quality reference for iCube.NET from their long term client
Weightmans, a LRF top 60 law firm with offices throughout England.
Other clients that have given references for iCube.NET are Cyril Sweett
plc, the recently publicised international construction consultancy,
and asblaw, another top performing law firm.
Interest in the entry level BI software, iCube.NET, is building as TCS
are seeing more and more enquiries for flexible and dynamic reporting
solutions. The market is in need of a software package that can be
installed out-of-the-box and deployed to multiple users with the minimum
of effort and investment. iCube.NET more than fulfils that type of
scenario and, with an enterprise licence fee starting from as little as
£3000, business seem to be turning to this little "hot cake" to help
them dissect and dig down into their data.

This
year TCS Computer Services Limited
celebrates its 40th year in business
providing IT and IS services to businesses
in the UK.
Twinlock Computer Services, as TCS was
formerly known, started life in June 1967 as part of the Twinlock
organisation providing outsourced computer
processing services to large organisations.
After a management buy-out
in October 1968, Twinlock Computer Services
became a separate legal entity and was
shortly renamed to TCS Computer Bureau in
January 1972.
As both technologies and service delivery
methods in the IT industry moved away from
computer bureaus, a further name
change to our present name TCS Computer Services occurred in
1981.
Since then TCS has traded as a Custom
Software Development House with a focus on
utilising Microsoft Technologies in its
solutions. TCS continue to provide
both
Software
Development and
Business Intelligence Development and
Support services to its clients.

TCS developed for first version of iCube
(as it was previously named) back in 2003 when there was a need from one
of their clients for a simple
and cost effective solution to display OLAP data in a
dynamic way for ad-hoc reporting.
iCube was
then developed further over a number of
versions with the addition of
user and group security and greater
flexibility for report generation, saving,
printing and publishing.
During 2007, TCS continued the
development of iCube migrating it to the
Microsoft .NET platform and renaming it to
iCube.NET v4.
In March 2008 TCS submitted iCube.NET v4 to
VeriTest (the Testing and
Certification partner to Microsoft) and shortly received
notification that it had passed the
Microsoft ISV Platform Test marking a
milestone for the software and the company.
