Performance

The system has reduced the actual work towards and length of elapsed time for the budget creation process each year by automating the consolidation of budget data collection from all the departments.

It provides support facilities to reduce the work of budget revisions.

It provides speedy response to budget monitoring queries.

The system supports 45,000 budget codes holding 3 years data centrally to support easy investigation and report creation. The current expectation is that there will end up being over 100 heavy users of the system with many others making less frequent use.

Substantial amounts of costly staff time are absorbed each year in the mechanics as well as the creative effort of the preparation of the Council's budget. The software

SQL Server based using ASP, JavaScript and HTML to deploy the front end across the intranet via I.E. or Netscape using browsers and Crystal reports.
