Performance

In the first year since the system went live the system has coped with 300% growth in the volume of applications.

School meals, school journeys and clothing vouchers have been processed for 13,825 children.

The value of the benefits administered in the period was £5.4 million.

A time consuming manual payment ledger has been replaced by an automated function.

Cost saving

Since the system was installed there has been a 60% reduction in the number of staff administering the system from 7 to 2.5 people.

Further reduction in administrative costs will achieved by the automatic payment approved benefits removing a considerable amount of manual work.

The software

SQL Server based using mainstream Microsoft development tools including analysis services and Crystal reports.

The software provides powerful search facilities:

• suggested benefit payments based upon established criteria; and
• offered a comprehensive range of letters to clients.
• provides management reports for the Council and the Government.
